Twangtacular Ep. 18 - Japan, Ireland, & Australia

From studios in Columbus Ohio U-S-A, it’s TWANGTACULAR, a production of WCRS Community Radio featuring authentic Country, Western, Bluegrass, and Americana music of the past and present. I’m your host Boy Howdy and I’ve got something special for you today. For the first time ever, Twangtacular is going exclusively international! Today I’ll exclusively be playing Country, Western, Bluegrass, and Americana artists from the beautiful countries of Japan, Ireland, and Australia! Hopefully, by showcasing these great artists from the past and present, it’ll serve as a nice reminder that twang knows no borders, and that good music might just be the first step towards world peace! If you’re a fan of good music, I think you’ll dig it. Hopefully, I will pronounce everybody’s names correctly. The first set of tracks will be all from Japan, starting off with Saito Johnny and the Unfamous Stringbusters, which is an authorized cover band of the Infamous Stringdusters. They’ll be playing Angeline the Baker to start of the program. Then we’ll move to the finest Japanese yodeller you’ve ever heard, Willy Okiyama with “She Taught Me How to Yodel!” You can listen to this and every episode of Twangtacular on-demand and for free on Mixcloud and at WCRSFM.org. You can also follow the show on Instagram @Twangtacular, and if you still like to listen to radio the old fashioned way and you’re in Ohio and passing through Columbus on Saturdays at 3pm or Sundays at 4am, on 92.7 FM and 98.3 FM.
