From studios in Columbus Ohio U-S-A, it’s TWANGTACULAR, a production of WCRS Community Radio featuring authentic Country, Western, Bluegrass, and Americana music of the past and present. Today we are celebrating the birthdays of Gillian Welch and Judee Sill. The former is a heralded queen of the new Americana, while the latter is a little known casualty of the Laurel Canyon generation. We kick off this episode, though, with a live version of the late Kris Kristofferson’s “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” recorded at RCA Studios in 1972.
