Beautiful straight-ahead jazz and covers of Beatles' tunes are the main items in this week's melange of mellow sounds. You'll also hear some of the down-home bass playing of the classically trained Edgar Meyer; the new age piano of Peter Kater; and a couple of tunes written by one of the true poets of country music, Townes van Zandt.

The folk piano of George Winston forms the centerpiece of this week's program, which includes other folkish sounds by Bob Dylan, Jesse Colin Young, and Simon and Garfunkel. There are also performances by Vince Guaraldi, Paul Desmond, and the new age duo of Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel.
